Amrood, commonly known as guava, is a tropical fruit native to an area stretching from Mexico through Central America and the Caribbean. The plant, scientifically classified as Psidium guajava, belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) and thrives in warm, humid conditions. Cultivated globally in tropical and subtropical regions, it has become a staple in many diets due to its distinct flavor and extensive nutritional profile. The name “Amrood” is widely used across South Asia, signifying its popularity and cultural significance in the region.

Guava fruit possesses a high nutritional density, often containing significantly higher concentrations of certain nutrients compared to other common fruits.
