How Chronic Use Changes the Timeline
If you’ve been taking Haldol daily for weeks or months, the drug builds up in fatty tissues and releases slowly. Research following patients after chronic use found a geometric mean half-life of about 3.9 days, with detectable blood levels persisting for an average of nearly 14 days after the last dose. Among the patients studied, 58% had half-lives under 3 days, while 42% had half-lives of 3 days or longer. Some individuals showed half-lives as long as 21 days.
