How to Heal Hemorrhoids Naturally and Relieve Pain

Most hemorrhoids respond well to natural treatments at home, with symptoms often clearing up within a week. The core strategy is straightforward: soften your stool so it passes without straining, reduce inflammation in the swollen veins, and change the daily habits that caused the problem in the first place. Here’s how to do each of those effectively.

Eat More Fiber to Stop Straining

Straining during bowel movements is the single biggest driver of hemorrhoid flare-ups. Hard, dry stool forces you to push, which increases pressure on the veins around your anus and rectum. Fiber fixes this from both directions. Soluble fiber (found in oats, beans, apples, and flaxseed) absorbs water and turns into a gel during digestion, which softens stool.
