The core of this approach is simple: vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fish, and olive oil as your primary fat. These foods are dense in polyphenols, fiber, and omega-3 fats, all of which interrupt the inflammatory feedback loop at different points. Polyphenols in berries, leafy greens, and olive oil act as antioxidants that reduce oxidative stress. Fiber feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Omega-3s from fatty fish compete with omega-6 fats for the same enzymes, shifting the balance away from pro-inflammatory compounds.
What you remove matters as much as what you add. Ultra-processed foods, refined sugar, and industrial seed oils promote inflammation through multiple pathways: they spike blood sugar (which triggers inflammatory signaling), they feed less beneficial gut bacteria, and they supply excess omega-6 fats that your body converts into pro-inflammatory molecules.

Exercise Consistently

Support Your Gut Microbiome
About 70% of your immune system resides in and around your gut, making the health of your intestinal lining and the diversity of your gut bacteria central to whole-body inflammation. Beneficial bacteria ferment dietary fiber into short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, which strengthen the gut barrier and send anti-inflammatory signals to immune cells.
