For epilepsy as an add-on therapy, 300 mg sits comfortably in the normal maintenance window and is well below the upper limits used in clinical practice. For epilepsy monotherapy, 300 mg is below the 500 mg target.
If you’re taking valproate alongside it, 300 mg is high regardless of the condition being treated. If you’re on medications that speed up lamotrigine clearance, or on estrogen-containing birth control, 300 mg may be producing modest blood levels that could even warrant a further increase.
