They’re also a good source of dietary fiber, particularly when you eat the skin.

Their real value in a meal is as a complex carbohydrate that provides steady energy, micronutrients, and fiber. To turn a sweet potato into a higher-protein meal, try topping a baked sweet potato with black beans, adding it to a bowl with grilled chicken, or serving it alongside eggs at breakfast.
